A.        INTRODUCTION

Pancasila is a national principle of the Indonesian state which is the first and foremost because base on these five principles which are known as PANCASILA, all the five Silas contain all values.  The values are applicable for Indonesian citizenship. These five pillars hold us together as a nation whether old or young generation it does not matter, what matter is the values of Pancasila is applicable for everyone though we come from different generations, backgrounds yet, we are still one that stick together to BHINEKA TUNGGAL IKA. This motto describes the condition of Indonesia that has a lot of ethnic, cultural, customary, and religions.

B.        CONTENTS

Pancasila contains all the moral value, the  first Sila teaches us on how to respect the differences and  the freedom for everyone to choose their religion without forcing others to embrace certain religion and to increase the value of tolerance as well as to be open to interreligious dialogue. But somehow human tendencies still look at this different, that causing a certain division, though not all Indonesians. There are some in a certain place but still more Indonesians are open to embrace differences. It shows how recently there was an event held in Jakarta it was all about the visitation of the supreme leader of the catholic church which is Pope Francis to Indonesia. It happened Pope was able to visit Mosque Istiqlal and the Grand Imam Nazaruddin Umar, from this meeting and the gestures that we show in the news and social media it actually tells us and the world how we as Indonesian  live out the values of Pancasila,  despite the challenges that we have experienced as a nation, yet still we are united as one nation, in addition, we uphold the human dignity and respect the human right not to take for granted those moral values but to uphold it. The five principles teach us all the values in life such as how to behave, how to adapt ourselves to different cultures, languages, ethics, and backgrounds, and most of all respect those differences, embrace and accept as it is, without comparing to others because that is who we are. The differences don’t have to be an obstacle to be united as one nation yet to accept because it enriches us and to learn from one another without distinction whether young or old, what we value the most is the lesson. The young generation can learn from the old generation and vice versa.

But upon Seeing the real situation in society such us this younger generation  somehow I feel pity towards the government, especially in practicing the values of Pancasila which has to be helpful in some other ways, yet it becomes worse due to the lack of education about Pancasila, this need special attention from the government so that the people will understand. As this time the development of technology influences many aspects such as education, a lot of information being published without looking into it, whether is it real or fake? As we can see this young generation mostly spend hours on social media rather than reading historical books or doing some creativity, even though we acknowledge the advantage and disadvantage of the technology yet, we have to be more attentive especially the parental guidance is needed in this era as well working together with the government to lessen the using of phones and know it's own place. The advantage of the  technology is that to make it easier to communicate with long-distance people, and the disadvantage is  that we don't care who is next to us or sitting right after us. It has become the habit that up to now, consciously or unconsciously we practice it in our daily lives. It becomes like the farthest has become closest to us, and the closest to us has become farthest that we can't even reach out. Sadly to say, but that is the reality in the society. Maybe we might ask or wonder what is the connection with Pancasila, there is a connection with the values of Pancasila to respect each other presence, if there is a person who face to face with us, yet why are we on our phones? Isn't it we need to spend time talking with each other, just don't be quiet looking and laughing with our phones, somehow being quiet doesn't mean we listen but it's Vice versa.

Regarding this situation, we don’t have to act like we are advanced in gadgets compared to others, because this generation doesn’t like being labeled  old fashioned, and don't adapt to the current times. We are now label ourselves according to what other tells us. If we adapt to the current situation the people might see us and tell us we are pretty cool but behind that, we have to respect our own culture or love our own culture rather than love others' culture, we might look cool and cute In front of others but what my culture says, we can't love others without first loving ourselves and it goes the same way we can't love other's culture if we don't love our own. What I am saying here is that love our own first before others, we respect that they exist but not more than that. There are always positive and negative of the culture itself, no culture is better than others, the exist of each culture has to be respected not to step on it or looking down on it.  The young generation remembers that the Indonesian culture has flowed and has grown in us wherever we are, we are still Indonesian and we present our culture with various cultures and languages, religions, and others. We should be proud of that.

C.        CONCLUSION

Therefore, Pancasila has to be strengthened in our daily lives because it is important for us, as it unites all generations, religions, races, ethnicities, and cultures. The young generation need to be aware of the advantage and the disadvantage of the technology and to be able to use the social media wisely and creatively not to spread fake news but  good news as well as to embrace diversity  and to value whatever we have without comparing oneself to the current times with the latest gadgets or the current style in order to impress people but to be able to value our own.
