What is pollution?
According to my understanding of National Geographic's definition, pollution is the introduction of harmful chemicals into the area or environment. Some types of pollution are water pollution; air pollution; soil pollution; light pollution and sound pollution. The cause of pollution is harmful chemicals going into an area where it can't be disposed of through a natural cycle, example:  chemical pollution into bodies of water and soil through improper disposal practices and agricultural activities, and noise and light pollution created by cities and urbanization because of population growth). One example of pollution is when industries and homes generate garbage and sewage that can and will pollute the land or the water if not disposed of properly. Pollution affects the Earth's soil, water, and air by contaminating them with dust, smog, toxic gas, and toxic chemicals.
Effects of pollution
       Pollution has many effects such as acid rain, making it hard to breathe, global warming (more on that later) and all of that is just from air pollution. Water pollution can cause many things though, it basically makes things die, all pollution everywhere makes things die. Sound pollution doesn't seem harmless, but it actually is if you live near things that make noise pollution it is very likely that you wound up having hearing loss, loss of productivity and even illnesses relating to stress. Though the most harmful, mainstream and dangerous effects of pollution is the aforementioned Global Warming
More on Global Warming
       Global warming is caused by air pollution, particularly the pollutants which are greenhouse gases, i.e., carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and other pollutants that keep heat in the atmosphere. The effect of global warming is the planet getting hotter though this doesn't seem harmful, most animals can only live in very specific heat ranges, it causes the melting of the ice caps which causes the sea level to rise and global warming also causes more extreme weather conditions. How does Global warming even work? Basically, the greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide let in the heat from the sun, then trap that heat in the atmosphere for a while but then releases it, this is normal, what isn't normal though is that there is just too much greenhouse gasses that trap in the heat and the heat just bounces for longer before finally releasing the heat. Well, how do we stop global warming? The most simplest way is trying to reduce carbon dioxide, to do that we should stop burning things and also plant plants that absorb the carbon dioxide and also gives us the oxygen.
How can we stop pollution?
Well, some ways are to use edible cutlery instead of plastic cutlery (this part of the essay was brought to you by the PCWP). Other solutions include: driving our cars less, this help stops pollution, because when you use your car to go somewhere, the car will release carbon dioxide from burning the oil that is in the sump also known as the oil pan; not burning plastic, this can help stop pollution because burning plastic will release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, polluting the air that we love; planting and caring for plants seems like the best and simplest way to limit carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere and because it is a very good way to stop air pollution but it is not simple, planting and taking care of a plant needs a lot of work, you need to put the plant near sunlight and you need to water it every 2-3 days. Those are only some of the ways to stop pollution and there are still many other ways to stop pollution. If it is hard to do any of these solutions to stop pollution, you can search them up on google or any other search engine, don't only read them though, you also actually must do them to stop the pollution.

What is pollution? It is the introduction of harmful things into the environment.
What are the effects of pollution? Death and a lot of suffering  and also global warming which just cause more death and suffering
What can we do to stop it? Planting plants, using motor vehicles less, not burning plastic or throwing it into the ocean and other ways that you can find on a search engine.

- Though carbon dioxide is important in keeping the earth not an ice planet because it traps in the heat but too much of it can cause too much heat and too much of anything can't be good
-the sump/oil pan is the place where oil is stored in the car
