Annual Traditional Boat in East Ogan Komering Ulu

32  teams took a part in traditional boat competition on January 1st,2012. The department of tourism and culture of East Ogan Komering Ulu held this annual event to welcome the new year. Thousand people came to see this event for free. The Chief of Deparsenibud OKU Timur explained this competition to aim free entertainment for the community of East Ogan Komering Ulu and around. In this occassion, The Regent of East Ogan Komering Ulu appealed the community to keep Komering river clean. "the local government actively develop and promote the tourism objects in East Ogan Komering Ulu,all stake holders should be involved" he said. The team of P.U Pengairan became the winner, they deserve the trophy and bonus from the Regent.
