I am clumsy and I have my moments and I happened to be especially clumsy that day.

I intended to clean the glass (used to store toothbrushes and toothpaste).

Seconds after I scrubbed, I felt a stinging pain on my right ring finger and saw drops of blood dripped on the washbowl.

It took me a few more seconds to register what had happened.

It was overwhelming to see blood and a small chunk of my skin hanging on the broken glass.

I panicked and waved my hand around.

Thankfully that snapped me out of the brief panic session then proceeded to call for help.

One of the German flatmates called the ambulance for me and that was how I got in an ambulance for the first time.

I’ve never seen real life paramedics before that day. Let alone being in an ambulance.

One of my seniors, Gita Aprillya accompanied me to the hospital.

The procedure of treating patient was not complicated, I only had to show my German health insurance card and my passport.
