What is Global Warming?

Global warming is the increase of heat on Earth, causing dehydration and melting ice sheets and glaciers.

What is Climate Change?

Climate change is the unstable and unpredictable long-term change in temperature and can be considered as the "side effects" of global warming.

What is the Greenhouse Effect?

The greenhouse effect is the process of the greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere that trap some of the Sun's heat, and the rest of the heat gets refracted or reflected back into space. The greenhouse effect is to designed stabilize the Sun's heat and cool it down.

How are they related?

While the greenhouse effect is designed to stabilize heat from the Sun to the Earth, global warming and climate change happens when certain human activity producing too much greenhouse gases than it is supposed to, trapping more heat and stopping it from reflecting and refracting back to space, making the Earth heat up.

What is the cause?

Human activity such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels are slowly causing the temperature in Earth to rise. It disrupts the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that are supposed to stabilize the heat from the Sun to the Earth, but certain human activity are messing it up and now we are getting the negative impact ourselves.

How is it affecting us?

The whole Earth and its living beings are getting a huge negative impact because of Earth that is getting heated up. One of the examples are polar bears that have been losing their habitat due to melting ice sheets and glaciers in their natural habitat. And it doesn't only affect animals, it also affects humans. If this continues, humans can die from extreme heat and dehydration from lack of water. And not only humans, but the whole Earth gets affected, from seas to sky to land.

Comparison from years before and now: The Earth is heating up drastically

What can I do to help?

"I'm still young so I'm not able to help" No, that's wrong! You are able to help even from a young age. Here's how:

- Save energy

Electricity and heat are mostly powered by coal, oil and gas. So, we should minimalize using electronics and switch to energy-saving materials instead. Power your home with renewable energy. You can switch light bulbs to LED lights that will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.

- Use an alternative vehicle

Instead of using cars, ride a bike instead to reduce greenhouse emissions. For longer distances, use a public transport such as a bus. If you need a car, you should consider getting an electric car.

- Plant more trees

Trees take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, so we need to plant more and more trees. You don't need to plant a whole garden, you can just start by planting small plants near your house, that works too!

Although most people are already familiar with global warming, they still do nothing to help because they may not realize how dangerous it actually is.

Spread awareness for global warming and climate change!
