How is it affecting us?
The whole Earth and its living beings are getting a huge negative impact because of Earth that is getting heated up. One of the examples are polar bears that have been losing their habitat due to melting ice sheets and glaciers in their natural habitat. And it doesn't only affect animals, it also affects humans. If this continues, humans can die from extreme heat and dehydration from lack of water. And not only humans, but the whole Earth gets affected, from seas to sky to land.
Comparison from years before and now: The Earth is heating up drastically
What can I do to help?
"I'm still young so I'm not able to help" No, that's wrong! You are able to help even from a young age. Here's how:
- Save energy
Electricity and heat are mostly powered by coal, oil and gas. So, we should minimalize using electronics and switch to energy-saving materials instead. Power your home with renewable energy. You can switch light bulbs to LED lights that will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
- Use an alternative vehicle
Instead of using cars, ride a bike instead to reduce greenhouse emissions. For longer distances, use a public transport such as a bus. If you need a car, you should consider getting an electric car.
- Plant more trees
Trees take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, so we need to plant more and more trees. You don't need to plant a whole garden, you can just start by planting small plants near your house, that works too!
