Balawan bertutur bahwa kalai ia bermain speed, bukan karena ia ingin pamer skill. Tapi spirit yang ada dalam jiwanya merupakan musik Bali yang agesif. Mengenai skill, juga dibutuhkan bagi seorang gitaris, sebab ini akan mempermudah dia dalam mengekspresikan musik yang akan dimainkan.

Before the interview session with Balawan ends, he explains that to be a good guitarist, someone must be honest. For him, attitude makes his performance. He added that skill is also important as it helps the musician to express the music performed. 

"The most important thing a guitarist should have is playing honestly, so everything a guitarist play should come from his heart. For example, I like to play guitar fastly. I'm playing that fast not because I want to show off, but it's because the spirit is in my heart. Besides, my songs are identical to Balinese music that are fast and eneregetic. Technique and skill is also important for me, because a good skill helps us to express our feelings and thoughts into our music," Balawan explained to close our interview that afternoon.
