Kalimat majemuk (compound sentence) adalah kalimat yang memiliki satu subject tapi terdapat dua predikat yang mencerminkan gagasan/keterangan yang berbeda, gagasan/keterangan tersebut dihubungkan oleh sebuah kata hubung (conjuction) Contoh:
- Ayoe is a beautiful girl although she is not clever.
- Vania will not come to you your party because you did not invite her.
3. Complex Sentence (Kalimat Sempurna)
Kalimat sempurna (complex sentence) adalah kalimat yang hanya ada satu predikat utama disertai anak kalimat untuk menerangkan subject atau object  dengan menggunakan kata ganti penghubung (relative pronoun) Contoh:
- Bhenq who sings country songs very well is my brother.
- The hotel where I stayed for three days is the biggest in this city.
4. Compound Complex Sentence (Kalimat Majemuk Sempurna)
Kalimat Majemuk Sempurna (Compound Complex Sentence) merupakan gabungkan antara kalimat majemuk (compound sentence) dan kalimat sempurna (complex sentence) hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kalimat majemuk sempurna (Compound Complex Sentence) terdapat satu predicate utama atau lebih yang disertai oleh satu atau lebih anak kalimat. Contoh:
- I just visited my grandparent who was moved to the village three months ago and bought them many beautiful and special parcels, which I bought from Singapore Trade Centre last month.
- The beautiful girl whom Bhenq loves is a loyal woman and has given him many gifts but he always refuses it.
Agar lebih jelas, perhatikan perbedaan sekaligus penggabungan kalimat berikut:
1. Simple Sentence
(a) Â Â Â Â Â Hanny always comes on time to school.
(b) Â Â Â Â Â Hanny lives so far from here.
(c) Â Â Â Â Â Hanny wants to be a doctor.
2. Compound Sentence
(a+b) Â Â Hanny always comes on time to school altough [she] lives so far from here.
(b+a) Â Â Hanny lives so far from here but [she] always comes on time to school.
(a+c) Â Â Â Hanny always comes on tome to school because [she] wants to be a doctor.
