Suatu hari saya kedatangan tamu dari India, saat saya tanya daerah asalnya, dia sebutkan Kerala. Wow... sebagai penggemar sejarah saya tahu bahwa Kerala adalah pelabuhan rempah yang sangat terkenal dimasa lalu, rempah inilah yg menyihir orang Eropa datang berbondong-bondong ke daerah Asia Selatan sampai ke negeri kita.
Saya lalu berfikir apakah ada hubungan antara Malayalam sebagai bahasa dengan Melayu sebagai Bangsa, agak unik sebab pengguna bahasa Malayalam ini sebagian besar dari Ras/Bangsa Dravida.
