Is Pancasila still relevant as the ideology of the Indonesian state and nation?
Indonesia. Is a famous country very strong democratic system. Where is Pancasila as the ideology of the nation and state to guide the Indonesian people in carrying out their social life.
Before entering the main topic about the relevance or not of Pancasila, we need to know what Pancasila is.
Pancasila comes from Sanskrit which consists of two words, namely panca which means five and sila means basis, principle or principle. So Pancasila means five principles or five principles or five principles. The easy language of Pancasila is the basis of the state which has 5 basic principles that the Indonesian people use as state guidelines, of course we all know what the five points of Pancasila are.
There is a very deep meaning in every item of Pancasila, not to forget that Pancasila also has a motto that reads "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" which means different, but still one.
Pancasila and the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika have a very strong bond. This ideology is used as the basis of society for socializing, religious life, human rights, and working together.
After we know what Pancasila is and its meaning. Now let's connect it to the present Is Pancasila still relevant as the ideology of the Indonesian state and nation?
Many questions are asked by the Indonesian people about this. Because why ? We know now that the value of Pancasila is minimally applied, both from government circles and us as ordinary people. Where the values of Pancasila, have begun to fade as a result of several factors, for example technological developments, there is a mixture of foreign cultures and others.
But what about the question if I was asked for an opinion on it? My short answer is "still". In my opinion, Pancasila is still very relevant as the ideology of our country. Why ? Because there is nothing that I think is suitable that can replace Pancasila. Regardless of its contents, in my opinion, our Pancasila moral values and human values are very perfect. Compare with other countries that adhere to the ideology of capitalism, anarchism, monarchism, and others. In my opinion, this ideology is very inappropriate and inappropriate to be applied in Indonesia.
For example, we use the ideological system of capitalism, one of which is free competition for self-interest, or monarchism in which only family or close relatives are entitled to become administrators or heads of certain agencies. Is it relevant to our democratic country "of the people, by the people, and for the people".
We are a democratic country, whatever it takes is for the sake of the people of the nation and the state of Indonesia. The struggle of our heroes in liberating Indonesia and designing Pancasila was not easy. It takes a critical mind to formulate it so that it is not biased so that no one loses. Then with the present? I think it is our own fault for not always applying our Pancasila values.
Many cases of violations of Pancasila have occurred, whether those pertaining to human rights, radicalism, and others. The Indonesian people began to lose their Pancasila spirit so that there were many violations of the law. In fact, if we can apply the values of Pancasila, I think Indonesia can become a safe and peaceful country with a small level of problems. For today's millennial era, this is the exact opposite.
It's sad to see the current developments. It feels like we have forgotten the services of our heroes. Pancasila is considered as a formality only as proof that we are Indonesian. The role of the government at this time should be more proactive in dealing with this threat. But this is on the contrary, many certain people who are in the world of government actually commit acts of violations such as corruption, making unreasonable rules, and so on.
They are actually more busy building toll roads, building infrastructure here and there, making laws, some of which I think are very unreasonable, compared to thinking about socializing the implementation of Pancasila. As if the government only as a complement not a provider. Cases of corruption occur even the punishment is irrelevant according to the violation.
Cases that are classified as rules can be forgiven and even heavier, such as the case of Asyani's grandmother who only stole wood and was sentenced to a year's sentence. Not to mention that this year, many criminals flocked to be released on parole from prison. There is Patrialis Akbar Former judge of the Constitutional Court (MK).
Patrialis Akbar is included in the list of corrupt convicts who are granted parole. There is another prosecutor from Pinangki Sinar Malasari who is involved in a corruption and money laundering case whose value is approximately 5.25 billion. And there are still many corruptors and other law violations. The question is, what are the values of Pancasila, one of which is "social justice for all Indonesian people". Not only the government, the community also sometimes makes mistakes just like the government.
Demonstrations that are not clear, radicalism, even many who commit human rights violations. Is this how Indonesia applies the existing Pancasila? Instead of discussing the relevance of Pancasila as our ideology, should we talk about how relevant is our attitude towards Pancasila? Have you implemented it? Pancasila has never made it difficult for us to become irrelevant. But we are the ones who make ourselves irrelevant to the values of Pancasila.
Therefore, as millennials, we must be smarter in sorting things out. Do not be blind to the wealth of fame and development of the times. Interspersed with developments with a positive attitude, the implementation of Pancasila is very relevant for our country. We should be grateful with the existence of Pancasila, there are many unifying values that make us not easily swayed by anything.
It is the fate of our nation and country that will determine our generation. Always instill the spirit of Pancasila in us. Not just talking, but really we have to apply and implement it.
Keep up the spirit of millennial warriors. Fight the wrong, defend the right. Long live Indonesia!
