IISMA - The Golden Dawn of Indonesian Global Exposure

JAKARTA, Indonesia – 14 May 2022 finally mark the long awaited day for all of the applicants of The Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). More than 900 university student from all over Indonesia has pass the selection of the international exposure program. The program done by the Indonesian Government through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) will have all of the awardee a fully funded studies for one semester in many prestigious universities around the globe.


IISMA has become a way for student to pursue their dream of international study. An awardee to Universiti Sains Malaysia, Rezky Syaputra, see IISMA as a gateway to hone not just his academic skill but also knowledge about practical working as the purpose of MBKM. In his opinion, every MBKM programs in general will benefit university student, especially IISMA that offers their awardee chances to suffice Indonesia through any knowledge they can brought back later.


Dzaki Aziz from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, one of the awardee who designated to University of York, think that international exposure will suffice his proficiency since prestigious university around the world provides all of the awardee with best experiences.  He encourages university student in Indonesia to strive for their goal of studying abroad. “First of all, prepare your best, if you want to get accepted, go beyond… Don't be selfish, and make sure you can show to the IISMA committee that you can coordinate, adapt, and have a sense of nationalism”, said Aziz as a note to any oncoming IISMA awardee.


IISMA was never only about international exposure, many awardee see the program as a golden momentum to explore their desire through abroad studies. Asfia Damistriya, one of The IISMA awardee from UPN Veteran Jakarta, express her gratitude for having the chances to learn cultural and social knowledge through her designated destination, The Hanyang University of South Korea. “I’m both moved and so happy because, Alhamdullilah, my effort finally bear sweet fruit”, said Asfia.
