I. Introduction Plato in his calcical philosophy began to search for a meeting point between knowledge and truth contained in knowledge. He began with a critical question, whether any knowledge really contained the value of truth. And in relation to ethics, he said whether what is right is also in the good category. Not necessarily true is good and vice versa not necessarily good is true. Then, what is the real truth? In the history of philosophical thought, truth is approached differently according to the current thought of his era. In ancient Greece, truth in philosophy cannot be separated from the universe.

Then comes what is called cosmology. Then in the Middle Ages, philosophical truth was dominated by Christian influence. For example the philosophies of Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, and Peter ambelardus. Only in the renaissance era the truth of philosophy has touched the essence of human life. The whole reflection of his central philosophy on the development of human existence itself. Emerge psychology, mathematical sciences, physics Eisntein. One step ahead of the Renaissance is modern times or modernism. Modernism is not just a method but a form of novelty.

The novelty of philosophy in this era lies in its attempt to purge philosophy from the dogmatic influence of medieval philosophy. Philosophy then becomes an autonomous business in thinking. After modernism, a new philosophical patron emerged, namely the era of postmodernism. The truth offered by this philosophy is different from the earlier philosophical arts. What is the truth of the philosophy of postmodernism? This will be the main study of this paper. II. Postmodernism and its truth First of all we need to know briefly what is postmodernism? For Francois Lyotard, postmodernism is the opposite of modernism which is considered unable to lift modern humans. Initially this postmodernism was a movement in the progress of the capitalists specifically in the field of art. In addition, postmodernism is also understood as a form of conflict with metanarasi.

Metanarasi in question is the great histories of the world that are exalted and continue to forget the small stories (Compare local wisdom) of a particular society or culture. However, the post affix to the word postmodernism implies a continuation of the philosophy of modernism. Continuation here is more critical than a form of philosophical line that still follows the old pattern. Postmodernism has challenged the establishment of modernism which further glorifies its rationality. Rationality in modernism has given birth to a culture that is banal in the terminology of Hannah Arendt, a man of war against all or human beings becomes the wolf of another (Hobbes), and a growing moral evil is becoming increasingly apparent.

In short, Postmodernism criticizes modernism as a flow that gives birth to a nonhuman world (humiliation of human dignity), whereas postmodernism tries to reverse this fact by putting forward the art of philosophy which pays attention to the human side. Philosophy exists for life. Postmodernism rejects the existence of a single truth in philosophy. The truth is plural. Even postmodernism rejects the finality of the definition of reality. Our definition of a reality or reality is very subjective and because the subjects who try to approach that diversity vary, the truth produced is also diverse. There is no such thing as absolute truth and death in that world. Habermas, a German philosopher, speaks differently, the truth must hang. Hanging intention is the effort of a thinker in grasping reality to delay his decision on reality. The truth is a decision that keeps getting delayed. It is not plural reality, the determination of the truth of reality is plural. So, the name of the truth claim does not exist in the philosophy of postmodernism
