An earthquake occurred in Pacitan, East Java at 00.04 WIB, Thursday (8/6/2023) in the morning. The warning earthquake at 117 kilometers southwest of Pacitan has parameters with a magnitude of 6.0.
"With a depth of 10 kilometers," wrote BMKG in its official statement, Thursday (8/6/2023) early morning.
According to BMKG, a tsunami was not a possibility following the earthquake. The community was however warned to be on alert for any potential earthquakes.
DIY was affected by the earthquake's vibrations. In reality, quite strong vibrations were felt in every region and city in DIY. The same was true for people living in Sleman Regency, Bantul Regency, and the City of Yogyakarta who also felt the earthquake's vibrations. In fact, several people in Yogyakarta evacuated their homes as a result of the vibrations they had been going through.
