The most favorite food from my hometown, for me maybe for some of us, Â is lengko. My hometown is Pamanukan -Subang. About 3 hours via highway from Jakarta. The capital city of Indonesia.
If you visit Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon, and surrounding areas, you can get lengko.
Lengko are white rice (Hot is better), bean sprouts has been boiled, fried tempeh, fried tofu, fried onions, leaves of chives is cut into small pieces, fresh raw cucumber is chopped, peanut sauce, soy sauce, and crackers.
White rice is placed on a plate. Fried tempeh is cut into small pieces, and fried tofu as well. Â It's placed over the top white rice on a plate. And then bean sprouts, leaves of chives, Chopped cucumber, fried onion are sprinkled over the top.
After that, peanut sauce is poured over it. Then poured with soy sauce over the top untill browned. And the last one, placed crackers over the top.
Lengko is ready to eat.
If I am being in my hometown, I usually eaten lengko twice a day. In the morning and the afternoon. I would rather eat lengko spicy.
Anyway, if you come to my hometown, you must try to eat lengko. I think you will be addicted.
