Indonesia Confirms to Fund Three Times Higher Than 2023 to Support UNRWA Mandate

Indonesia Foreign Minister Retno Marusidi held a meeting bilateral agenda with commissioner General United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugee in the Near East (UNRWA) Phillippe Lazzarini on following horrific humanitarian situation in Palestine in New York City, United States (22/9).

Lazzarnini said "UNRWA is on the financial crises where many member states freezing their funding system to UNRWA and accused UNRWA as a Terrorist Organziation"

Despite many allegations come to UNRWA, Indonesia will always stand and commit to assist UNRWA since it has role to manage Palestine refugees and strategical role to  Palestine recovery process.

Retno said" This Morning(22/9), i attend Core Group Foreign Minister OIC  to encourage member states in United Nations General Assembly proposing to rally improve support for palestine, including UNRWA".

Moreover, the concrete action made by Indonesia is escalating its funding to UNRWA 3 times higher than 2023 with 1.2 million USD. in addition Indonesia initiate to have an agreement with "Badan Zakat Nasional to have another option in order to gain more support especially on funding to UNRWA.

in conclusion, Indonesia is a core Group of Friends of UNRWA in United Nations with the focus to streghthen UNRWA mandate for Palestien.
