ABSTRACT
Â
The objective of this paper is to assess the efficacy of using video media as an educational tool for teaching social studies in primary schools. In this study, we conduct a comprehensive literature review or survey to gather and utilize several publications as primary data sources. Data acquired by researchers based on empirical observations in the field. Elementary school social studies instruction mostly relies on printed material, with instructors often using traditional lecture methods devoid of additional multimedia aids. Consequently, this approach typically leads to student disengagement and reduced participation in the learning process. The study findings indicate that using video as an educational tool leads to student disinterest and apathy towards learning, particularly among primary school pupils. Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of using video as an instructional medium, especially for elementary school students. The use of instructional video media aims to enhance students' learning in several aspects, including cognitive, psychomotor, affective, and emotional, as well as interest and focus.
