Some Tips to Visit Bogor Famous Annual Street Festival, Cap Go Meh

Users of two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles cannot park their vehicles along Jalan Surya Kencana. This is because there will be a diversion of traffic flow around Jalan Surya Kencana by the police starting at 13.00 WIB. 

Meanwhile, for those who still want to visit with a vehicle, can park in the available parking lot. Such as BTM (Bogor Trade Mall), Botani Square Mall, Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari Mall, Bank Complex, Bakorwil Building, City Hall, Zoology Museum, and any other available places. 

2. Take public transportation 

Jalan Surya Kencana as the main stage of the Cap Go Meh cultural carnival, is about 2 kilometers from Bogor Station. Thus, visitors can take the KRL Commuter Line to Bogor Station. Then, take an online vehicle for about 3.9 kilometers (km) in 15 minutes, or walk for about 2 km for 30 minutes to get to the location. 

Local residents can also do the same thing, namely using public transportation such as angkot, or online transportation, or you can walk if the location is not too far away to avoid traffic jams. 

3. Arrive early 

The enthusiasm of the people in welcoming this festival is always visible, because there are always many visitors almost every year, except for the last two years because of the covid. Therefore, to get a comfortable place and the best spot to take photos and record videos during the festival and avoid traffic jams, it is recommended to arrive early. 

4. Wear comfortable clothes 

In crowded situations, you should avoid clothes that are complicated and make it difficult for you to move. Wear clothing that absorbs sweat more easily and is practical, as there will be lots of people during the parade. In addition, you should not use excessive accessories, so as not to attract the attention of bad people. Wear comfortable clothes but still fit the situation. 

5. Take care of luggage 

The cultural parade at Cap Go Meh in Bogor is expected to be packed with visitors both within the city, outside the city, and even abroad. In crowded situations, the potential for crime is likely to occur more. Therefore, always remember to store valuables such as cellphones or wallets in a safe place. You can also put your bag in the front, and always be aware of your surroundings.
