Ridwan Kamil applied for 11 days of leave to fly to Switzerland. The Indonesian Embassy in Bern, Switzerland announced the latest news regarding the eldest son of the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz or commonly known as Eril. The Indonesian Embassy announced that Eril was found in a lifeless condition.

Liechtenstein Muliaman Dharmansyah said the Bern police had met at the Indonesian Embassy in Bern with the family to convey information on the discovery of Eril's body at 06.50 am Swiss time or 11.50 am WIB at the Engehalde Dam in Bern. After registering, the Bern police carried out an investigation to identify him. Right on Thursday, June 9, 2022, the police confirmed the DNA results found in Bern were Eril.

This, of course, was crowded with people in Indonesia and in Switzerland until it entered the official police website police.be.ch which reported that a man was found at the Engehalde dam in Bern. The police stated that he drowned due to an accident while swimming in the river, besides that the police also submitted a file to the court to hand over Eril's body to Eril's family. At noon on Thursday, the court gave the task of the family to receive Eril's body.

Under Swiss law, the police must leave the decision on bodies found in court. The handover of the body to the family has been decided by the local court. The family will accept and bring him to Indonesia. The Indonesian Embassy in Bern confirmed that it would escort the repatriation of Eril's body. The Indonesian Embassy in Bern also confirmed that Eril's body received its rights as a Muslim.

Previously, Eril was accompanied by his mother and sister to come to look for a master's scholarship. While looking for college, Eril with his friends and sister swam in the Swiss Aare river. When Eril tries to rise to the surface, Eril strays from the current and then disappears. Ridwan Kamil, who was in England at the time of the incident, immediately flew to Switzerland and gathered with his family there to look for Eril.

Ridwan Kamil also decided to go down to the river to look for his son's whereabouts. On the eighth day of searching with the police, Eril's body has not been found. The family decided to return to their homeland and stated that Eril had died by drowning. Search efforts continued until finally found on Thursday 9 June morning.
