Hijrah, Let's move!

Today is Hijriah New Year, new year for Moslems. there are many things people have to face the special day. reading whole of holy quran, public lectures for moslem society, parade, some innovative modern agendas to a very traditional ceremony which some people call it as syirik. Whatever, the most important we should not left is doing prayer of  the end  year to ask forgiveness from mistakes and doing prayer of the new year to ask His bless for us doing our next activities in the new year we will face.

Recall the history, hijriah new year is a reminder for a moment when rasulullah SAW and his all follower moved from Makkah to a new land in Madinah. We call this move as Hijrah. Of course this isn’t an ordinary move with no purpose. Rasulullah asked Moslem to move to madinah for several meanings. To flee from Quraisy who listed Rasulullah saw as the first target to kill, Rasulullah saw asked his follower to have a long jourrey to a place where people there were longing for his conductiveness. But more than went away, Rasulullah can build an Islamic government there. Build some mosque, united moslems Muhajirin and anshor in a solid brothership, and even in his leading non moslems society could feel comfort and safe.

As a matter of fact, hijrah was not really happened on Muharram,, but rabiul Awwal as month of rasulullah birthday. Khalifah Umar RA decided to choose Muharram first as a start of new year instead of Rabiul Awwal because in Islamic history Muharram is a month of triumph. Prophet Nuh AS successfully land in Judi Hill on that month, so did prophet Musa AS fled from Firaun and his troops at that month.

Hijriah means many things for moslems. There are some worthy lessons learned from this moment. But the most It’s about our struggle and seriousness to change our condition. Escape from obstacles and come to the better condition.

It’s not about moving physically, but the most important thing is moving our mindset, change our mind. Left our bad habit, left our laziness, weakness, blind sides or whatever we had that usually blocked us to reach success. Success for life now and forever till the day after.

So let us make our best resolution for this new year. Let us step on these days carefully, don’t be trapped in the same mistakes we ever done before. Let’s move and move move. Be better, keep near to Allah swt, and bring more benefits to others. Let’s start this new year passionately. Allah swt will bless us.
