Hot issue comes from Gmail users this January. The issue relates to the loss of several electronic mails in Gmail inbox randomly. It makes users cannot to access old e-mails that are stored in Gmail.
It happens to my Gmail too.
The amount of my real e-mails are 943. However, it only shows 43 in my inbox.
In my opinion, all of those emails are not lost. For example, when I tried to access an old e-mail by using a searched box feature, I could find it. It can be seen that its timestamp is August 12, 2014.
The interesting fact shows that when I changed the view of Gmail by using the standard view, the disappeared letters could be showed. So that I conclud that it is can be as a simple conventional way as a solution in a temporary time.
I guess this incident, actually, is for making a Gmail application which is installed in smartphones, such as the Android smartphones, damaged. In my logical reasoning, the simple view of a basic HTML feature is required by devices such as smartphones when they are used to access an online information. This condition is needed by smartphones because their limited resources, such as energy resources and their processor capabilities. While a feature likes a standard view in Gmail is a rich application that intends to be used by a user application trough a web browser.
My suggestion is do not enable an auto sync Gmail feature on smartphones until this bug is fixed, also change your Gmail password immediately in order to avoid a risk that your account is being stolen.
