Â TikTok users may be more likely to trust products promoted by artists they like or follow, thereby increasing consumer trust levels.
As a result, accusations against live artists selling on TikTok have sparked controversy. Â Some people think this is not a problem, but there are also those who heavily criticize the actions of artists, because they do not give opportunities to poor people. Â Because they know that artists have a lot of money and are famous, when they know that they are famous they try to take advantage of their popularity to sell themselves.
 The President believes that TikTok should only act as social media for entertainment, not as a media economy.  "This has an effect on UMKM, on production in small businesses, micro businesses and also on the market. In the market, in some markets it has started to decline due to the invasion. this should be about social media, not the media economy," said President Jokowi  after inspecting roads in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, Saturday (23/9/2023).
 Because of this, artists selling on TikTok Shop are in the spotlight.  As a result of the rapid increase in online sales, it is said that the conditions for UMKM traders have become deserted, making them complain because they do not provide opportunities for those with low incomes.  Therefore, the government must pay more attention to dealing with this problem and providing solutions for people with low incomes.  And finally, according to information circulating, Titok Shop will only be a promotional medium and will not be banned, but the regulations will be tightened with the aim of protecting domestic industry.
