Many people that I know, who work in a public or private school, whose children are studying there said that homeschool precludes children from experiencing real life. They believe that it is essential that children interact and work one another to be able to build real and dynamic skills that are necessary in the real world. In fact, homeschool protect the children from negative socialization which is happened outside, such as fighting between schools, drugs abused, desperate behaviour, emotional disorder, free sex, violence, etc. And instead of being locked behind school gates, homeschoolers are free to go to fire departments, museums, zoos, swimming pools, national library, shops and malls where there is a real community interaction.
Homeschool provides the children with calm and peaceful environment. It helps the children concentrate on studying. It gives more freedom in learning. It lets your children learn without the time limit and lets them explore everything that they like, whenever they want In contrast, Public School classroom is not as calm and peaceful as homeschool because it usually full of 25 - 40 students. They also think that eventhough Public Schools class room like that, they believe that children who are living a very sheltered and protected life likely the ones who will have difficulty to the real life after school. And as parents you know the best environment for your children.
If we are talking about character that build your children to have responsibility, respect for others, independent, helpful and other ideal characters as social people, homeschool builds children's character and dismantling selfish ambitions. Homeschoolers have to seek a lowly and servile role to those around them. However, this does not mean that they are called underachieve. Meanwhile in a public school, the children are driven to achieve high marks to get a good job one day that can lead to self-indulgence. Pride is promoted in a public school. There is a rank system. And being popular and agressively competitive are traits promoted in a conventional school.
The visible benefit of homeschooling is the strong relation between parents and children. Parents can spend more time together with their children. Parents can protect their children from being bullied by other kids, do not to worry that their kids will be kidnapped and get an accident and bad social relationship out there. Moreover, parents can see their kids academic progress directly.
Choosing homeschooling is totally fine as long as you are ready with everything that is needed in the process of learning:
First, a comfortable room to study. You need to design a room which has a high level of comfort. Maybe you can place some furniture, a computer, a study desk, bookshelves, a whiteboard, etc. Other than that make sure that the room is not too hot in temperature and has enough light.
Second, quiet environment. Studying in noisy environment is difficult to do because they will be distracted and it will be hard for them to concentrate.
Third, a certificate of teaching. If you have a certificate of bachelor or master degree in education. Make sure you are able to teach you kids properly. To teach the children you need to have the knowledge and skills academically. You need to know about lesson plan, you need to have to skill to develop the material of teaching, the syllabus, and teaching procedures. It will be a big problem, if you know nothing about them. You need to learn more about it. Don't make your children learn the wrong thing only because you are not prepared as a teacher. In this case, you need to hire a private teacher for your children. Again, you need to monitor the private teacher so that he/she will teach your children properly.
Fourth, creating positif socialization. You have to make a schedule of outing so that there is a contact with the real world. Help your children make friends so that they can build social interaction with other people.
Each child possesses different personalities, so what would work for one child may not work for the other. As parents you need to decide which is suitable for them. The choice you choose will give a great effect for the rest of his/her life.
Education is very important for people all over the world. If you have good education you will get good career too. That's why you need to choose the best education system for your children since early age. You children are your future and their education is their future too.
