b). Al-Jabiri's Main Point
Al-Jabiri called for establishing Arabic epistemology of reason with three epistemologies namely Epistemology; Burhani, Bayani, and 'Irfani. The relation between tradition and modernity, according to Al-Jabiri, is maintaining good old traditions and taking new traditions better. That is, the tradition was reconstructed by internalizing contemporary thoughts. Tradition is not meant as a total acceptance of classical inheritance, so the term authenticity becomes debatable.
