Life is gonna changes every time. In the past, people used to survive by exchanging food or valuable items but now we have currency as our tools of exchanging something.

However, not only from the sector of life necessities but other aspects of life also develop. Let say, technology, people in the past were really difficult to get information about the world, but now information just as though it is in our grasp.

In spite of it all, an irony emerges from the picture above. I see a comparison experiment from the picture above, it can be seen from the inclusion of the year on the side. In the top part, we can see a bottle in which there are a ship and water, and in the bottom one, there is a bottle inside which contains water and junk of plastic bottle.

If we take a closer look, the creator has purposes to be conveyed from the picture above. There's hidden meaning try to be clarified and criticized by a human. In my point of view, the top part can be interpreted as an illustration of the ocean as a media for the ship to go around the world.

Its contrast with the bottom one that shows an illustration about the ocean which is the function actually converted as a medium for the junk to drift away to another place. As I read in news from Liputan6.com published on august 12th, 2019, junks from Indonesia already arrived in Thailand.

It's posted by @ivana_kurniawati and she also uploaded the appearance of rubbish on the beach, ranging from a cup of instant noodle garbage to famous brand flip-flops in Indonesia. As an Indonesian, I do concern about this news which truly illustrates what the picture above tries to convey.

And then, I look deeper, apart from the opinions above, I find another means of the picture. I think, the picture also tries to show humans that in the past what dominates the ocean is large ships, fishing boats, and small boats, but now we face a condition where garbage has managed to cover almost the entire sea level.

Around 1875, large wooden ships dominated the ocean, invasion, and trade occurred a lot in that year and certainly the most possible transportation at that time shipped. For this history, the art worker makes a souvenir in the form of a ship in a bottle that draws ship's heyday of that era.

Nowadays, in 2019 later, plastic waste dominates the surface of the sea, and Indonesia is one of the biggest contributors in the world. Therefore, a souvenir bottle is made in which there is trash so that humans in the future can remember the glory of plastic waste today.

For all, I just want to say that sometimes pictures actually have implied a meaning that needs to be found out. This is why humans need critical thinking to be more open in their understanding of things that are trying to be expressed implicitly.
