With the panic situation because of this pandemic, it is easy to be lonely and upset. Especially during the quarantine, with social distancing, it feels isolated. It feels like the situation will only get worse because of the deaths rate is getting higher and higher. These negative thoughts are never ending inside of my mind. But, it is only me? or you too?
Learning english in my college during the pandemic is a bit boring. Because of the daily tasks that are given to us are never ending and monotone. There are also challenge studying with the online systems that is provided to us, like online signals, limited electronic devices, etc. Still, some students will find it hard to study with this new online system. But, we should bear it, right? The world also doesn't want this situation.
It makes me feel like studying english with this kind of situation is a bit difficult and hard. Lack of direct teaching and discussion is my main problem. I am the type of student that understands something by being teached or discussed directly. Indirect studying is hard for me, especially when the material is complicated, though my lecturer tried his best to discuss the material with us. But still, it feels not right.
My opinion is, this online teaching and learning system is good, but it needs to be improved. Some students don't even study because not being watched by the lecturer. That makes the time of learning is useless, because they don't understand what the material contains. Lack of english vocabulary and understanding meanings is one of our problems in learning english.Â
Rather than giving out assignments, I think the better solution is to teach with the aim to increase our vocabulary level.
Though that are my thoughts, my impression of learning english in STAMI during the pandemic is not that bad. The ineffectiveness can't be  eliminated, but can be reduced. But, still, there are a lot of positives things in this online learning system, one of them is the increase of uderstanding and usage of the technologies. The development of technologies can't be avoided. The right thing we should do is adapt with the technologies and use it for a better condition during this pandemic.
