A Message from Conductor & Artistic Director
Dear Friends,
Welcome to this performance of the Bandung Philharmonic. Thank you for joining us for an evening of great music.
It is with a mixture of joy and sadness that we play this concert tonight. There is great joy every time the orchestra has the chance to gather from all around the world, practice together and perform beautiful music for our wonderful audience. But there is also great sadness tonight as we realize that we will not be able to present our regular concert seasons any longer.
Financial challenges have become too great for us to continue offering a full season of concerts. Despite the enormous efforts and hard work of the staff and Board of Directors, the needed funding has not come. So we must take a hiatus from our orchestra concerts for the present with hopes that future funding may appear.
I have deeply loved every minute of my 20 trips to Bandung over the past 7 years and have come to love Indonesia very much. I will miss these visits more than I can say. But mostly I will miss working with these amazing musicians who have put their greatest effort into making the Bandung Philharmonic the finest orchestra in Indonesia.

Selamat datang di konser Bandung Philharmonic. Terimakasih telah bergabung bersama kami untuk menikmati musik yang luar biasa di malam ini.
Kami tampil di konser malam ini dengan perasaan yang bercampur aduk antara sukacita dan kesedihan. Selalu ada sukacita yang besar setiap kali orkestra ini mendapat kesempatan untuk berkumpul dari seluruh penjuru dunia, berlatih bersama, dan menampilkan musik yang indah untuk para pendengar kami yang setia. Namun malam ini, ada juga kesedihan mendalam karena kami sadar bahwa kami tidak akan pernah bisa lagi mempersembahkan konser musiman kami secara rutin.
Tantangan finansial yang kami hadapi terlalu besar untuk kami dapat terus mengadakan konser satu musim secara utuh. Terlepas dari usaha dan kerja keras yang telah dilakukan oleh jajaran direksi dan para staff, pendanaan yang diperlukan pun tidak kunjung terpenuhi. Oleh karena itu, kami harus menghentikan konser orkestra kami untuk saat ini, dengan harapan akan muncul kemampuan pendanaan di masa yang akan datang.
