Note: This article has the objective of explaining the role of coffee shops as a means of youth interaction.

Visitor activities are not limited to ordering drinks and food; there are many other activities that visitors do, so they usually spend quite a long time in the cafe. Actions that are most seen when you are in a cafe are social interaction activities between human visitors or cafes. There are various types of social interaction according to their benefits, namely exchanging experiences, increasing knowledge, and talking about business. This illustrates the role of the cafeteria as a means of social interaction for young people in the city of Bandung, which then becomes a new lifestyle for the younger generation here.

It's interesting to talk about coffee in general because coffee has always been sought after and loved in Indonesia, from the past until now. Talking about coffee cannot be distinguished from a place that serves or sells various types of coffee drinks, namely coffee shops. At that time, the existence of coffee, which was increasingly in demand, prompted the emergence of cafes with all their modern nuances, offering coffee in various types, flavors, and presentations. Cafes with a modern touch have sprung up in Indonesian cities with various world-famous names, but the existence of these coffee shops has not been able to destroy the existence of traditional coffee shops that have existed for a long time.

Drinking coffee is perhaps one of the few verbs that can represent multiple actions. From food and drink, business negotiations, exchanging ideas at work, meeting old friends, and casual chats on the side of the road drinking coffee in a cafe is also an activity that does not care about social status, regardless of differences in gender, social class, age, or anything else that can hinder the popularity of this coffee nickname. Cafes also do not discriminate against customers. Man or woman, rich or poor, young or old---even everyone can do activities in the cafe. Apart from being a place to enjoy various coffee drinks, coffee shops also offer advantages as a means of social interaction.

Social interaction can be interpreted as a dynamic social relationship. Relevant social relations can be in the form of relationships between one individual and another individual, between one group and another group, or between groups and individuals. In interaction, there are also symbols, where symbols are interpreted as something whose value or meaning is given by its users. According to Herbert Blumer, the process of social interaction is when someone acts on something based on meaning that has something for people. Then comes the meaning of something from the interaction between a person and each other.

Social interaction can occur when there is social contact and communication between two individuals or groups. Social contact is the first stage of social relations. You can discuss many things, from general to specific, which have many advantages, such as: B. Creating communication between people who haven't seen each other for a long time or a forum for exchanging experiences and information between people Therefore, the author created this article with the aim of learning about the role of coffee shops as a means of social interaction among young people in the city of Bandung and the benefits of social interaction that these young people get from going to coffee shops.

The culture of drinking coffee in the morning is nothing new for coffee lovers, especially in developed countries like Japan, and recently, the same culture has also been tried in Bandung. This makes it easier for anyone who wants to drink coffee in the morning from 7 to 10 a.m. before moving. Most coffee shops in Bandung value a cup of black coffee or hot milk at only IDR 20,000. The affordable price for a glass of hot coffee and the good quality of coffee are indeed the main attractions for drink lovers with this distinctive taste. Some stores even offer other gifts, such as a loaf of bread or other accompaniments. The aim of the cafe is indeed very unique, which is to invite people to get up early and create a healthy business. This is a form of concern and appreciation for Bandung cafe owners from Bandung residents. especially productive millennials after sunrise.
