Enhancing Organizational Sustainability through Collaborative Innovation in Business, Technology, and Information
Organizational sustainability has become a critical concern in today's business landscape as companies strive to balance economic, environmental, and social considerations (Mariani et al., 2022; Adams et al., 2015). Organizations must adopt a dynamic and innovative approach that integrates sustainability into their core strategies and business models to achieve this.
Green human resource management (HRM) practices are critical to enhancing organizational sustainability. Green HRM involves aligning HR policies and processes with the organization's environmental management objectives, fostering a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship. As noted, the HR function can be instrumental in facilitating this comprehensive approach to creating a culture of sustainability (Liebowitz, 2010; Swarnalatha, 2020;Mitra & Hembrom, 2020). Employees who are aware of the organization's sustainability strategy, satisfied, and empowered can contribute significantly to sustainable development(Nunhes et al., 2020).
Furthermore, the successful implementation of green HRM requires a collaborative and innovative mindset across the organization. Businesses must work closely with their stakeholders, including HR executives, sustainability coordinators, and employees, to develop and execute a cohesive sustainability strategy(Liebowitz, 2010). This multi-stakeholder collaboration can help resolve conflicts and create a "win-win-win" scenario for the organization, its employees, and the environment(Liebowitz, 2010).
Innovative technologies and information systems also play a crucial role in enhancing organizational sustainability. Data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics, and digital technologies can help organizations measure, monitor, and optimize environmental and social performance(Jackson et al., 2011). By leveraging these technological advancements, businesses can make more informed decisions, improve resource efficiency, and minimize their environmental impact.
In conclusion, achieving organizational sustainability requires a holistic and collaborative approach that integrates green HRM, stakeholder engagement, and innovative technologies. By aligning their human resource practices, business strategies, and technological capabilities, organizations can drive sustainable change and contribute to a more sustainable future(Priyadarshini, 2020).
