Some people might have passed by a cemetry that all of the graves are painted in white during their visits to museum tsunami, just next to the museum stands its main entrance, it is a burial ground for the fallen dutch soldiers who during colonialism and has been known well by over a million acehnese people, on top of that it is also been convinced as the second largest dutch soldier's cemetry outer-Netherland.Â
To know what are the features inside, visitors might will be guided by some placekeepers, there are so many paths that lead to the heart of the cemetry. The heart is marked by some kind of planted tree of lifes with a single person-tomb under it. it was the tomb of only acehnese person that is burial among other ducths in that cemetry. namely Meurah Pupok.Â
Wonder how is that even possible in happening?, there is a tragic backstory behind, Meurah Pupok is King Sultan Iskandar Muda first son, He was been convinced to be the next king by his father and been trusted to hold an army of soldiers.Â
After a while, Meurah Pupok was caught for doing unforgaveable things, he commiting adultery with one of the army officer's wife, just when the officer came back from the battlefield, he caught up those two while adultering which makes him really mad and finished off the woman right in the place, but Meurah Pupok was succeded on running away.Â
The officers was letting King Sultan Iskandar Muda know right away in order to chase down Meurah Pupok. Once when Meurah Pupok arrested, the investigate approved that  Meurah Pupok is Commiting adultery with the officer's wife. This has violating the rule of islamic shari'ah which cost him his live.Â
Sultan Iskandar Muda ordered to execute him with death penalty. Afterwards he buried among ducth soldiers in that cemetry, because of Sulthan iskandar muda's willingness to punish hi son, he recited a prose : "Mate aneuk meupat jeurat, gadoh hukom ngo nadat pat ta mita."(When our child passed away, we still can find his tomb but when our cultures and rules lost, where do we can find it?). He has chiefly carried the rules of islamic shari'ah and it will always been applied in Aceh.Â
     As it said above, the entrance was next to Tsunami Museum and Christian school, commonly only after visiting museum do people come there, there will be no charge taken to get inside, but you might will encounter a mini-clerk which have a placekeppers ready in place. If they are in idle momment , they might be able to accompany and guide visitors, but at some busy momment he might just provide you several necessary informations. Any visitors are welcome without considering any matters.
