Toll or in Indonesia is also known as the freeway, is an alternative way to solve traffic jam or to shorten the distance from one place to another place. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) started to operate the Toll Gate Cibatu which is the result of cooperation with PT Lippo Cikarang on 5 April 2014. The Toll Gate Cibatu connect directly Region Lippo Cikarang, Jababeka and East Jakarta Industrial Park ( EJIP ). It helps serving the traffic in the region and reduce the number of vehicles on the Toll Gate Cikarang Barat. In addition to office employees and residents can reduce traffic jams.
Toll road users have to pay according to the applicable rate. Determination of rates based on vehicle class. Building or facility where tolls are collected can be called as the toll booths. The buildings is usually found near the substations out, at the beginning or end of the bridge and when enter an overpass. Toll payment can be made in cash or by electronic toll collection system.
The Toll Gate Cibatu has nine toll booths consisting of four substations entry and five substations out. The Toll Gate Cibatu provide benefits to the users. This is because the streets were still good, and there are no traffic jams. “This toll can help save my time” says Selfi which is one of Cibatu Toll users. “From my home, I can access the Jakarta and Bandung easily because, it was close” says Karen which is also one of Cibatu Toll users. Both of the toll users say that they are more comfortable to use Cibatu Toll than Cikarang Barat Toll. “Actually, each of the toll has plus and minus, but, I’m more comfortable using The toll Cibatu beacause little of its users” says Karen, not only her, Selfi also think the same. “I’m more comfortable using The Toll Cibatu because my house was in Jababeka, so better use Cibatu Toll” says Selfi who prefer to use Cibatu Toll to pick up her children to school.
Cibatu Toll also has its drawbacks. According to Karen, Toll Cibatu still too quiet at night so several times the murder occurred in the two-wheeled vehicle users who want to pass that way. It was also due to the frequent street lights turned off at night. She hopes that things like that don’t happen again because, it can disrupt the user experience of Cibatu Toll.
So far The Toll Cibatu users was quite statisfied, they can feel the benefit of this toll. They hope at Cibatu Toll still no traffic jam and in addition to the toll booth built something so, not too quiet at night. Also, hopefully more street lighting reproduced.
