October 23, 2010, very early in the morning, at 5 am, I and my friends were ready to go to Sanur beach. I was so excited to come to Sanur again (it was my second time) since I came there eight years ago in afternoon so I could not observe the experience of seeing sunrise. It was funny to see most of my friends' who obviously looked sleepy but forced themselves to wake up to witness the famous sunrise in Sanur. Thus, it made some of them looked like sleeping walking men. However, all of us suddenly could be refreshed when we could hear soft whisper of the waves. We felt so peaceful seeing the delightful combination colour of the blue beach with the orange yellow colour from the sun who was ready to welcome people who came there.  All were in smooth colours with the sensation of silence. I conclude it was very good moment for doing little contemplation as I saw one man sitting in the edge of the beach to do yoga. He was very focus in doing his meditation. Kind of inspiring activity to do.

I took several minutes in silence, being alone in one corner of the beach edge. I felt so peaceful and undisturbed. Without I asked to myself, I unconsciously could feel that my soul began to be relax. I could forget the pressure of daily routines. Some friends, walked on the beach and started swimming. I saw one of my friends, Davide Giuseppe Grosso swam but suddenly stopped for a moment. He looked calmly at the water without any voices and motions. He later told me that the atmosphere reminded him with his home town, Sicily, Italy. So it made him became tranquil and remembered home.

Then the moment we were waiting for came, the full sunrise. The atmosphere turned on to be bit cheerful but could not hide the feel of serenity. I began to take pictures with friends and walked around to observe Sanur in detail. I could see several huts that I believe those were built for adding the convenience of the people to see sunrise. I also saw several dogs which were very common to see them in most parts of Bali. Off course, I did not forget to mention about some food and flower offerings that I saw - the typical image of Bali that still has the strong spiritual sense though it has been touch with modernization. Then, walking in the white sand, we left Sanur with not only fresh body, but also fresh mind and soul.

Sanur, the morning serenity in Bali with its placidity. I believe it will be memorable spot  for anyone who come here. Wishing It keeps long lasting to save its splendors to always be the pride of Indonesia, to always be the story in the world.
