Film "Tormented"
Directed by Abdul MH Faiz. As we know, in english literature, the fifth semester student have to make an adaptation movie. So this is one of it, and for you who will be a fifth semester student, you can watch this movie to become references. Because we think this is okay movie. This film originates from a novel named  Virginia Wolf "The Mark on the Wall". This is a drama movie.Lead actress is Marwah who act as Diana.
First impressions of the film are very crucial, and a loss for this film. Background music from the beginning can't deliver nuances of joy from marriage and isn't romantic when you hear it. Although the rest of background music from this film is great can compose and elaborate with the scene making mysterious atmosphere and also suit with the settings
Our opinion about costumes in the film is good. because it can be precise and can put the costum done in those scenes. like the time of the wedding also wears wedding clothes and at home wears house clothes and is always adjusted so that the audience does not get bored while watching it because the costum has been made according to the scene. there is also a cloth symbol that depicts a figure of speech in the fabric that makes the audience become more understanding with the plot because of the meaning and symbol of the batik cloth. All the comments for this costume are positive in our opinion. even better. and motivating enough to reference costumes that fit the scene in the film.anyway. everything is good enough.
This movie doesn't have any special effect, because this is drama movie. No need a lot of particular effect.
For cinematography, the camera placement from this film is impressive, and can cover most of the objects on the scene. The depth of colour is good and can deliver natural ambience to a high level. But sometimes the gap from one scene to another is very wide so making an annoying transition can disturb when enjoying the film. Overall form the photography of Tormented is neither great and flaw, of course it's because right technique at the right place the camera can capture and deliver a good quality of videos, unfortunately there have a quite big and troublesome hole that is the transition, a good scene but suddenly end up with flaw transition can broke the balance of the scene
The plot is interesting when we talk about this one, smooth beginnings gradually become a climax and intense mystery but the ending is quite off and can't deliver satisfaction from the problem even though Tormented is good when it comes to storyline.
The settings used by the film are very good, because the settings are very supportive of the story in the film. Â And settings can also make the viewer's carried away.
Acting which is fought by the main character is less attractive, so the viewer's can not come to feel the incident. Jump scared in the film is pretty good because there was an unexpected event there when he saw the young's in the village who he thought would be mean to him, it was not what he thought. Â The young man who was thought to be evil turned out to be good at Diana.
We rate this movie 3/5.
So, from the explanation above, we think this is an okay movie. You can still watch it in your free time. Or maybe you need to watch a movie for references when you will make an adaptation movie.
