The event, held from April 22-24, 2024, centered on the theme "Precise National Police Public Relations Ready to Support Conducive Security and Social Security Stability in the Democratic Process to Accelerate Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation."
Led by the Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Pol. Dr. Sandi Nugroho, S.I.K., S.H., M.Hum., the meeting was attended by key figures including the National Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Sc., M.M., Aslog National Police Chief Inspector General. Pol Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, S.I.K., M.Si., East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Inspector General Pol. Drs. Imam Sugianto, M.Sc., and other high-ranking officials.
During his address, the Head of the National Police Public Relations Division expressed gratitude to the attendees and acknowledged the collaborative efforts in implementing various public relations programs. Despite some Heads of Public Relations being unable to attend due to various reasons, such as monitoring the situation at the Constitutional Court, natural disasters, presidential visits, and security warnings, the commitment to maintaining security and social order remained unwavering.
The strategic role of the police public relations division was emphasized, highlighting its responsibility in managing positive information about the police force, building public trust, and maintaining the institution's reputation and branding. It was noted that the division must adapt to technological advancements and new challenges, particularly in managing social media and online platforms.
Notably, the National Police Public Relations Division received significant support from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who provided two valuable gifts on the division's 72nd anniversary. These included Perkap no. 6 of 2023 regarding the implementation of public relations for the police environment and the public relations portal application, aimed at integrating police services and enhancing communication with the public.
In conclusion, the meeting highlighted the importance of police public relations in maintaining public trust and supporting police duties. It emphasized the need for police receptionists to embrace technological advancements and engage with the public in contemporary ways, including through citizen journalism initiatives.
