Still in the Year of Tiger

According to some websites that I Googled, Tiger Year (starts from February 14th, 2010) are still running until February 2nd, 2011. To be honest, that’s not the first reason why I painted this picture of tiger (er… I’m sorry if it doesn’t look like a tiger to you.). I was thinking about what animal was I going to paint this time, then I remembered that I had a promise to myself that I’d paint a tiger as my dedication to the wildlife activists in preventing tigers from extinction.

As you may know, Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris Sumatrea) population may be the second largest in the world and Indonesia, where the Sumatra island itself located, has its own high position in the eyes of the wildlife world. Many National Geographic wildlife photographer, including Mattias Klum, and almost all wildlife biologist in the world know that Indonesia is one of the countries that have to be visited because of its rich biodiversity. Indonesia is also the home to the three of world’s most endangered species, which are the Javan rhinoceros, the Sumatran tiger and the Borneo pygmy elephant (according to The Jakarta Post). You’ve already saw my previous animal painting which was titled “Hello, Rhino!” and this one that I’ve done today, I’m thinking about painting two animals for the next day. Which one should I paint first, a rabbit or an elephant? :)
