National Police Public Relations Task Force Holds Operation Puri Agung, Secure 10th World Water Forum in Bali

The Indonesian National Police is deploying a task force to secure the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali from May 18 to 25, 2024. The task force, named Operation Puri Agung, will involve 5,791 personnel and will start 10 days before the event. The security operation will cover not only Bali but also East Java and West Nusa Tenggara.

The Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, emphasized that the task force's mission is to ensure a smooth and secure event. This includes collaborating with influencers, media, and ambassadors to promote the event positively. Security measures will be implemented humanely and prioritize service to the participants.

"The National Police together with TNU and related stakeholders are working together to ensure that this event can run safely," said Sandi, Monday (6/5/2024).

According to Inspector General Sandi, this event is an opportunity for Indonesia to showcase its commitment to water resource management. He stressed the importance of good coordination between the National Police and other agencies to ensure the success of the operation.

"Indonesia's election as host of the 10th World Water Forum is an important moment to show the world its real commitment and contribution in the field of water resources," said general Sandi.

The Director of Traffic Law Enforcement Corps of the National Police, Brigadier General Pol Raden Slamet Santoso, ensured that his team is prepared to secure and escort heads of state and delegates attending the forum. Security personnel have undergone training and routes have been assessed for potential vulnerabilities.

"We have prepared several things with existing points of vulnerability, including security and security, security and traffic," he said.

Security and escort personnel have undergone training to improve their skills and professionalism. Apart from that, personnel and patrol vehicles will later be dispatched to Bali. Not only that, the Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance, M.Fadil Imran has also inspected the venue that will be used in the event.

"We have carried out training for the VVIP and VIP escort officers, then PAM route officers and parking officers, starting from 23-26, who will then carry out the shift of troops and vehicles to Bali," said Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance.

The World Water Forum is expected to be attended by 43 heads of state, representatives from 4 international organizations, 194 ministers, and more than 17,000 participants from 172 countries. The theme of the forum is 'Water for Shared Prosperity'.
