More and more people are using smart phones such as Iphone, Blackberry and Android devices but unlike a few years ago when smart phones were only being used by the business elite they are now being used by all ages and I want to specifically talk about teenagers around the ages of 13 and 18 (students of Junior High School and Senior High School) using smart phone. Smart phone has many benefits for us such as getting much information by browsing in the internet and relaxing ourselves with playing music. We can get information that can not be found in our book by using internet in our smart phone. Smart phones make us easier to get information, it has simple size that we can bring every where, we just turn on your smart phone and smart phone will be ready to use. After that, if we are bored we can use music player for playing the music, it will make you relaxed and calm for a moment. Most of Senior High School students have smart phones and bring them to school. They bring smart phone to contact their parents when they get sick or other. However, smart phone can make problem with many applications which are not well used. Therefore, there are at least three reasons why smart phones should be prohibited; intruding on study process, circulating porn video, and cheating media in exam.
Smart phone on a student’s hand will become a problem. Let us think it over while a teacher is teaching in the class or while other students are doing exercise that they get from teacher, a student is busy with his smart phone, maybe he is replying short message service from his friend or another person outside. If you were a teacher who taught that student in the class, I think you will be angry and maybe you will give punishment. Beside that, smart phones have vibration which can make your concentration lost. So, your concentration will change from study about new lesson to see what is the matter with your smartphone? For example, while you are focusing about new lesson which is given to you then, your smart phone is being vibrated in your pocket. You will see your smart phone which gets a message, you reply at study process. You are left a few minute that your teacher has taught to you. Afterwards, your teacher is coming to you and give question about what we learn before. You can not answer the question about it because you do not see and hear what teacher has taught to you.
You will get punishment because you can not answer the question. It does not matter if it is your first time making a fault but how if you are still doing it, it will become problem to you and when you go to school, you do not get anything about what teacher has said. After that, students are usually using their smart phones to see facebook, twitter, and another application that we have to keep in touch to our friend. They will find a good time while a teacher is busy teaching, you use your smart phone. In addition, you find a comfortable place to hide your smartphone which can be seen for you but your teacher can not see your smartphone. You can enjoy to play your smart phone without guilty. Another side, you can do anything with your smart phone such as playing games. If you are a gamer freak, I think you will play a game although your teacher is teaching you, you prefer playing a game to studying a new lesson. You will place your smart phone in a safe place, so you can play without being scared that your smart phone will be taken from you. That is the problem when smart phone is not prohibited at school
However, smartphone has many benefits for us but behind many benefits smart phone can court catasthrope like smart phone as media for spreading porn video. It can save many video or photo with large capacity so it can make someone easy to do anything with their smartphone. In fact, many smart phones have camera makes it easy for people to try out what they have never done before, including taking nude pictures and video-recording acts of intimacy. Most of people use their smart phone to do useless activities. They do not think what will happen if they do that. For example, watching porn video, seeing porn photo and acting out is the problem in our society. Now, many problems because of porn or sexual such as,”Pedophilia in JIS”. I think it happens because a person watches porn video very much in school and a person acts out with his student and he thinks a children will not talk about what the matter is before. In our smart phone, we can get porn video in play store if you use Android mobile, porn video is free for us and we can download it without think it over.
Beside that, smart phone has bluetooth media which can give video and photo to another smart phone. Let us think if your friend has porn video in his smart phone, we can get easier by bluetooh media. After that, almost of many smart phones have internet, internet can make us download porn video easier. we can find many link in internet which gives us about porn video or porn photo. Most of people are using google as web browsing that gives us much information. In negative side, google gives us link which can bring to porn video and porn photo. Many problems that we can get from porn video, porn video can make student feel stress, always angry, and can not concentrate when a teacher teaches. The most dangerous is a student acts out to her friend in the school because a student watches porn video. So, save our young generation from pornography.
Moreover, smartphone can be used for cheating in exam, some of students are using their smartphones as cheating media. Smart phones have application which can be used for cheating. They can cheat by using instant message app like BBM, Line, Whats app and others. For example, Budi sends instant message to get answer from Candra while the exam is going on, Budi who has smartphone can use that application freely for cheating or giving the answer to other friend. Budi who cheats in exam will be hard to know by a teacher because Budi does not make a noise and always calm. Why do they do it? The first answer is that they can not answer some of questions and they want to get high score.
On the other hand, a teacher is not professional with his/her teaching, it makes students confused and do not understand about what teacher has taught to students. Finally, in exam, they cheat from their clever friends or they are searching in google. Smart phone can save much text in their application so student can save much information which will be used in exam. This problem will always happen if no one does not cope with it, all schools should ban the usage of smart phones in school’s area and students must have awareness to try by themselves and trust their skill.
In short, intruding on study process, keeping away from the circulation of porn video, and cheating in exam are at least three reasons why smart phones should be prohibited in the school. I urge to students in the school not to use their smart phones at the school because it will disrupt their concentration and they can not get anything which can expand their knowledge. Students should be wise on using smart phone. Do not let smart phone restrain them, but they must be able to restrain their smart phone. For parent, you should control your child when they use smart phone. After that, it is advisable for students not to download porn video or porn photo because it will be addicted to see it and act out is the problem. Then, they should use smart phone for positive activities, do not use for cheating and they must trust themselves that they can answer all questions to get higher score. Do not give up in failure. Last but not the last, keep trying is the key to reach success.
