“Rehearsing Strategic Program Related to Cross Cutting Issues
for Sustainable Agriculture”
BACKGROUND
Agricultural development is growing significantly to address high demand on agricultural products. In addition, dynamics of international condition affects the direction on its orientation whereas global competition for agricultural product will arise to feed the world. Emerging threat to sustainable agriculture is driven by rapid economic transformation where the world’s population reaches almost 7,2 billion.
Sustainable agriculture integrates three main goals: environmental health, economic profitability, and social and economic equity. The challenge is to provide the world’s growing population with a sustainablein the context of global climate change, environmental changes and declining resources.
Asystems perspective is essential to understanding agricultural sustainability and support production and productivity of food, fiber, and fuel. Therefore, a comprehensive program among stakeholders should be applied relating to cross-cutting issues for achieving sustainable agriculture. As well, enhancing innovation system between Research & Development Institutes and other parties: Governments, Academicians, Business, and Communities
Untuk itulah Badan Litbang menggelar Internasional Symposium on Applied Syastem Analysis, dengan tema “Rehearshing Strategic Program Related to Cross Cutting Issues for Sustainable Agriculture” oleh Indonesian Agency for Agriculture Research and Development (IAARD) Ministry of Agriculture bekeja sama dengan Lee Kuan Yeuw School of Public Policy-Asia Competitiveness Institute, National Univercity of Singapore (LKYSPP-ACI NUS), dan dukungan oleh President’s Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4), International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA) and Indonesian Natioal Committe for Applied System Analysis (INCASA) yang diadakan di Le Meridien Hotel, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kav 18 Jakarta pada tanggal 14 Oktober 2014.
