Super GT is Japanese domestic racing car series. The GT itself stands for Gran Touring. The car raced in Super GT is prototype racing car based on road going version, but the chassis, engine, it was all purpose built for the series. The car is powered by 2 liter 4 cylinder hybrid engine, produces around 500-600 horsepower. And with the sophisticated bodywork, the car could drive around in a circuit really really fast. The speed of Super GT car is almost the same with the Le Mans prototype car. The format of the race in the series is practice, qualifying, and race. But there is differences between Super GT and other racing car series. Super GT made a system called "Weight Ballast Handicap". If there's a car that finished first place in a race, the car will be handicaped by weight penalty, by using ballast of 20 kg, and it goes to the second place car, third place car, until the fifth place car. Obviously with lighter ballast. This was made for the purpose of fair racing. Making the race is more competitive and unpredictable. And for the course of the race is in Japan circuit  For example, Suzuka and Motegi circuit.
With all the point that being mentioned, the Super GT series had their massive fanbase around the world. Also, the racer from the series was not from Japan only. The series attracted person such like Ralf Schumacher, a former Formula 1 driver and the younger brother of Michael Schumacher. The series is very prestigious and there is proof behind that.
