Samsi Pomalingo is a lecturer at the Gorontalo State Univereity and also at the University of Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo. He received Master’s degree (M.A) in Religious and Cultural Studies from the Center for Religious and Cross Cultural Studies (CRCS) at Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta (2004). He continued the doctoral program in anthropology at the Hasanuddin University Makassar. Now he is as a head of research study center at the University of Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo. His research interest is on Religious and cultural Studies, Islamic Studies, Islamic movements and Globalization, the Anthropology and Sociology of Islam and Muslim Cultures.
