Does cyberbullying really have a significant impact on adolescents' mental health? Along with the development of technology, adolescents' social interactions increasingly occur in cyberspace. Bullying can be defined as a series of aggressive actions and intentions repeatedly carried out by a group or individual against a victim, with the aim of hurting and making it difficult for the victim to defend themselves (Olweus 1993, 1999). Unfortunately, this technological sophistication is not always accompanied by positive behaviour. Cyberbullying, which includes online threats, harassment and bullying, can have a serious impact on adolescents' mental health. Cyberbullying can have a significant psychological impact.

Teenagers who are victimised often experience stress, anxiety and even depression. Teenagers who experience cyberbullying can experience unreasonable stress and high levels of anxiety, which can take a physical toll on the victim, such as experiencing panic attacks, trembling, sweating and rapid heartbeat. Threats, taunts and bullying through digital media can damage their confidence and emotional well-being. The insecurity and psychological distress caused by cyberbullying can affect adolescents' mindset, behaviour and mental health. One important aspect to note is how cyberbullying can cause social isolation and deep emotional impact. Adolescents who feel threatened may withdraw from social interactions, feel lonely, and experience losses in their emotional development that contribute to mental health issues.

The impact of cyberbullying can vary from individual to individual and depends on a variety of factors, including the social support they receive and their strategies. Efforts to detect and address cyberbullying as quickly as possible, as well as providing adequate emotional and mental support, can help protect adolescents' social relationships and personal happiness from adverse impacts.

The importance of awareness and preventative approaches in dealing with cyberbullying cannot be overstated. Collaborative efforts from families, schools and communities can help create a safe and supportive environment. By supporting victims and educating teens on digital etiquette, we can play a role in reducing the negative impact of cyberbullying on teen mental health.
