SINGAPORE – MALAYSIA – THAILAND
Hey Journer.. I've traveled overseas for 10 days with a small backpack... anyway, the distance between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand can be reached by land in few hours, so here is the story of my road-trip.
DAY 1 (Tue - May 20 2014)
• Jakarta – Singapore by Air asia QZ-270
• Stay Changi Airport overnight
[caption id="attachment_317763" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Day 1--May 20 2014"][/caption]
In the morning took a picture "things to bring", unpacked yet cz i have to be in office on 8am. On Monday night, after my office hour, i rushed back home, went to Rawamangun to celebrate 12 years of MALILA..and i have no time to do packing.
I've tried to ask permittion "going home earlier on 1pm", but my boss permitted on 2pm. I have a short time to take a bath, pack my things and have a lunch. 3.15pm went to Gambir by Ojek, unexpectedlly i got on the same Damri Bus with Dhance, haha :))
4.45pm arrived at Soetta Terminal 3.
6.05pm take off Jakarta – Singapore by Air asia QZ-270
8.50pm just landed at Changi Airport, told my sister & brother
Captured memories at the Social Tree, Enchanted Garden, walked around Xperience Zone, but we haven’t go to the Movie Theatres yet L
Then we started to walk along the corridors looking for “nasi” or something else-halal food to eat.
We found “Nasi Lemak” with unfriendly server..
As our schedule, we will not sleep in Hostel, but we’ll stay in the airport, just as Tom Hanks in the movie The Terminal..he he he :D
During the night actually we weren’t given permission to stay at Changi Airport or to use the benches for sleeping, but finally we decide to sleep in mosque. Sleeping in the airport..that was the first time for me, we felt that our night bellow zero, so we use of the anything as a free blankets around us. (feeling guilty, actually).
DAY 2 (Wed - May 21 2014)
• Check-in Gap Years Hostel
• Break time at Hostel

[caption id="attachment_317764" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Day 2--May 21 2014"][/caption]
5am Sari woke me up, Sari said that a woman woke them up unfriendly.
7.00am immigration check, after that top up the Ezlink Card (i borrowed ezlink from Dhance’s friend, we do consider a EZ-Link card at the MRT station because we plan on making multiple MRT rides). 7.30am we went to Gap Year hostel by Mass Rapid Transport, stopped at Boon Keng, walk along the field & apartment during five minutes, then we arrived at Gap Year Hostel, address : 322 Lavender Street, Lavender/Kallang, Singapore +6590180943, room type: 12 bed mixed dorm.
Finding this hostel, was easy! I admit that, using MRT & LRT System Map helped us a lot!
After 3 times change the number of bed, finally i choose bed number B09—the up bed (fortunatelly Mr. Dennis such as a kind man, he let us to choose our bed)
In room, we started to unpack our things and changed our clothes then had some rest for a while.
11.30pm bought Gardens by the bay Ticket from Mr. Dennis. After recharging ourselves, we started to walk around the city. From our place, we walked to Boon Keng MRT Station.
Get on MRT at Boon Keng, stoped at Bayfront. In front of Marina Bay, we was waiting for suttle bus to Sentosa island, but the driver said we only permitted to get on that suttle bus by showing “the key of Marina Bay Room” Owh, well...maybe tommorow we still have chance to go to Sentosa Island. Then a visit to the Merlion Park is a must!
__distance between marina bay sands and merlion park is 2.4 Km. Travel time from marina bay sands and merlion park is 45 Minutes on foot.
We decide to walk around marina bay sands to merlion park :D we started the tour – in front of Marina Bay Sands hotel. With the energy boost, we walk through skyscrapers.
The Art Science Museum--got a pictures with Dinosaurus :D
The Esplanade Theatres--have an exterior resembling that of a durian.
The Double Helix Bridge--a pedestrian bridge, see Singapore Flyer from here..
Then finally Merlion Park--the national ‘animal’ of Singapore (albeit mythical), being half fish and half lion. Got some ‘pictures’ in front of the Merlion statue.
Dizzling day..enjoy Ice Cream $1,2.
Then we got on a taxi, go to Gardens by the bay
Firstly we took a pray (Finding the mosque, was the worst part...no place to take a pray, finally we ask permittion to take a pray in an information room)
..::Cloud Forest::..
We started enter Cloud Forest—a mysterious world veiled in mist, tropical rain forests....my imagination compared it to Avatar-like environment.
Entering the cloud forest, the temperature was cool see waterfall pouring down from the mountain, amazing!! we could feel flickers of water droplets on our skin.
Then we go up the lifts to be on the highest level, the “Lost World”.
Continue to walk in and out of the pathways at various levels amidst the mist and blooms see planted walls--with a mixture of orchids, ferns, bromeliads, begonias and carnivorous pitcher plants.
..::Flower Dome::..
The cool-dry conservatory called Flower Dome has petals and blooms from most parts of the globe. The colors of the flowers in various sizes and types. I love kaktus.
6.30pm back to Cloud Forest. We thought that we unsatiesfied yet if we don’t watch waterfall turn out become grape colour :D. In order to got in Cloud Forest again, we have to back to the exit door, got the stamp then back to the entrance.
7.45pm watch a spectacular light and sound show of supertrees.
8pm have dinner at KFC, no rice, french fries only L fortunatelly i accustomed to spent “three days no rice” :D
9.30pm watch song of the sea..then we back to Hostel by MRT.
Before sleep, i wash my clothes in a sink and hang them to dry at night. (forgot to pack detergent, so i use my bodywash)
There was three other travelers sleep in the same room at hostels. This was the first time for me to sleep in a hostel. I hope our night will be safe. Aamiin.

The price of superior seat is 33 SGD meanwhile it will be 33 RM if we buy at JB. That’s the rule.
booking online website ktmb.com.my. is down :|, so we have to go to Johor Bahru to buy train ticket.
2.20pm we go to Johor Bahru by MRT & Bus, hope that we’ll get “night sleeping berth upper”
Coming from Singapore via MRT, we departed at Woodlands and went through immigration of Singapore. At that time we felt the differentiation of atmosfher, air and situation between Sin & Mal.
From Woodlands MRT station we got on Bus 911 or 950 to JB. The journey time is about 10-15 minutes.
Then we went through immigration of Malaysia. Went to KTM Locket, bought ticket of Train Senandung Sutera: JB Sentral-Sentrall KL (kelas superior (ASC) RM33,0 Rp117.480 (compare with 33 SGD = Rp. 304.425 à Rp. 186.945)
Ticket for “night sleeping berth upper” was over.
After that we went back to Singapore.
With the same way through immigration, got on bus and MRT.
We have 4 immigration stamps only for buy a cheap train ticket :D i was wondering what the immigration officer think about us? Some beggars coming from Singapore, one hour in Malaysia then back to Singapore again? Ha ha ha...
Anyway, we have prepared the answer when they ask even intercept us: “we leaved our bag at hostel” or “we are passport stamps collector” J
Getting train ticket was spent our time!! total journey time around 200-300 minutes which includes average immigration, bus and MRT times.
How about schedule to go to china town, sentosa island, orchad road ?? hmm, changing plans at the last minute..now we have a short time to go to orchad road only.
8pm we arrive at Orchad road, only for PHOTO STOP not SHOPPING :D then we go to Gap Year Hostel took our luggages (it was nice to stay at Gap Year Hostel, clean beds & sleepsheet, free Internet, free bread+nutella and of course, we were so grateful for kindness! Many thanks Mr. Dennis!).
Then continued to Johor Bahru again. Catching our train, we got our blood pumping by running.
Our train departed Singapore (Woodlands) 11:30pm then was arrived at Kuala Lumpur on 07:30am

free yourself!!
we choose what to do..
we took the pictures...and..
we enjoy the holiday!!!
♫♪♪♫ I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start ♫♪♪♫
...♫♪♪♫ So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older ♫♪♪♫
♫♪♪♫....All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost
♫♪♪♫
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans
♫♪♪♫ lifeisbeautiful ♫♪♪♫
