Some people say that if you think that you do not need to know on something, then you will not care on anything related with that thing
For example, I have been trying to teach my Mom like crazy on how to use the cell phone. But she said she only need to know how to receive incoming calls... So, she do not care that she can not call me, or send me sms... Then, she got sick and bored to death in the hospital. I told her, if only she can use the cell phone she can call anyone she want. After that, she learn a bit about how to make outgoing call. And that's it. She said she does not need to send sms. That's okay then... at least she know how to call me...
I guess it is all depends on how much we want something in return from the new things that we learn. Like my Mom did... She realized that if she knew how to use the phone, at least in basic, she probably could avoid the boredom in the hospital. Previously, she did not feel the need to as she can use the regular phone at home. You know, the one with big numbers on it and it can not be used outside your house in certain radius....
It depends how much you want that thing... how much you need that thing... if you have realize those two... then nothing can stop you from doing it or at least learning it.... MAYBE...
