Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi, pengampu Nila Ubaidah, S.Pd., M.Pd.

The world of education is currently trying to recover after the Covid-19 outbreak which requires all citizens to work and carry out activities at home. The impact is very significant, namely the decline in student motivation to learn, to the decline in students' initial abilities. The Minister of Education and teachers work together to create an ideal learning environment for students after the outbreak. One way that can be applied to overcome this problem is to create a learning atmosphere that supports students to grow, or often referred to as student-centered learning.

Student-centered learning is learning that is able to recognize student needs and provide treatment according to student needs. In the current curriculum, namely the independent curriculum, teachers are strongly emphasized to provide different treatment to each student. The steps that teachers can take in creating differentiated learning are to make learning plans in the following steps.
1. Student Mapping
Teachers reflect on something they want to achieve with their students. In this case, it can be seen through intellectual, social, or psychomotor aspects.
2. Student Needs Analysis
The teacher conducts an analysis by previously conducting an assessment to determine the students' needs related to learning.
3. Grouping
After mapping and analysis, the teacher then groups the students. This grouping aims to provide treatment that is in accordance with the needs of each group of students.
4. Providing Choices
In differentiated learning, students can negotiate regarding the learning process they want. At this stage, the learning plan that has been made by the teacher is adaptive and not rigid. So, it can change according to the circumstances and needs at that time.
5. Presentation of Diverse Information
In differentiated learning, the teacher presents learning not only in one way, but can be implemented in various ways. For example: the material is presented in three ways, namely video, LKS, and mindmap.
6. Avoiding Giving General Practice Questions
In differentiated learning, the provision of learning materials is carried out in various ways. So, giving routine practice questions is not recommended. Differentiated learning allows students to build their own knowledge.
7. Connection with Life
By connecting daily life and materials, students can improve their understanding of the material being taught. Providing material connections can be done in various ways, according to the needs of the students.
