Education is sometimes still interpreted as something that is less important and is still underestimated. Previously, the notion of education itself was the learning of knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people that are passed down from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Education often takes place under the guidance of others, but it is also possible to be self-taught. Education starts from the moment a person is born until he dies. But, there is also an opinion that says that education begins before humans are born, namely when they are still in their mother's womb. Education can be formal and non-formal. Formal education is education whose process is tied to certain institutions such as schools and training courses. While non-formal education is education which in practice is not tied to any institution, occurs naturally and usually and is obtained from everyday experience. The influence of education is actually very influential on life, but there are still many who misunderstand the meaning of education.
The need to consider an educational process important is because it is through education that life can take place. Through science, one can develop the potential of a human being, foster creativity, and form a person with good behavior and morals. The problem is, there are still many who underestimate education. The reason that many people still think education is not important is because of the impact of the lack of knowledge itself. It can be said that they have a low level of knowledge so they cannot feel the big impact of education. Most of this happens to people in remote or out-of-reach areas where access to education is difficult. Even though the picture if the world runs without education is that everything will feel far behind and there will be no change or innovation.
Education has many benefits both for humans, especially the younger generation. The first benefit is education as a means of information and understanding, meaning that education will make it easier for someone to receive and give information and understand it. The second benefit is to create a young generation of quality and capable of having broad insights. The third is to prepare the younger generation to face the future and to find work, to create a generation that is more caring, and a generation that is smarter. That's the many benefits of education, education is considered capable of changing the world for the better. As Nelson Mandela said "Education is the world's deadliest weapon, because with education, you can change the world". Then what about the bad effects? Does education have a bad impact? Until now there has been no opinion that says about the bad impact of education, except that it is an obstacle that makes the education process less than perfect so that it is considered a bad impact.
The way for us to participate in helping so that education does not continue to be misunderstood as less important is to provide understanding and explanations to the wider community. this can be done by such as spreading information through social media and conducting counseling. Of course we educate without judgment, because with that information and knowledge will be more easily accepted.
When many still ask "How important education is?" "Is education important?", the answer is that education is very important. That's because all the joints of this life will not run without an educational process, from small to big things. Therefore, it is very important for us to immediately realize the importance of education which is also balanced with efforts to educate others so that education does not continue to be taken lightly. It is time for us, especially the younger generation, to liven up the spirit of education better for a brighter future.
