A prominent interfaith activist and founder of Anand Ashram Foundation (affiliated to UN) Anand Krishna dedicated a statue of Buddha (as high as 2.5 m) to Lord of the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso in Sarnath India.
Inauguration of the sculpture was done at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (deemed University), Sarnath (Uttar Pradesh), India on January 9th, 2009 and was covered by various electronic and written media such as the Hindustan Times India, K TV, DD News, Z News. That Buddha statue was made of the same stone to build the temple of Borobudur in the 9th century AD in Muntilan, Central Java, Indonesia offered to the Dalai Lama to-14 to strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties between the people of Indonesia and Tibet, as well as supporting non-violent struggle done by Majesty Dalai Lama to the 14th in order to protect Tibet's cultural heritage and history.
And now Anand Krishna is dying because of his hunger strike for 44 days as his protest toward his detention which is a matter to silence him. He will continue that strike until justice is upheld toward his case.
