Way Khru Day is an event where the students pay respects to the teacher as the symbol of the student-teacher relationship. The students will be giving a little bucket of flowers to the teacher to express their gratitude. The ceremony generally starts with a Buddhist devotion in the institution where  Theravada Buddhism is the official religion. Then, the students recite the Wai Khru chant to express their gratitude and also ask for blessings from their teacher. following this, some of the students as representatives of their class, present a candle and Joss stick in a bucket of flowers arranged on the Phan (traditional Thai pedestalled trays) to the teacher. Usually, followed by a headteacher speech just giving guidance and hope to the students' careers.
Wai Khru Day is normally held in most schools in Thailand no exception for Anuban Chumchon Phukradueng school, that this event was held on 13/06/2024. The people of the school are enthusiastic about participating in this event. the preparation took a day before the day of the event. All the students and the teachers participated in this event no exception for the internship students. A student from the University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Raditya Ferdi Riyanto who participated in an international internship program at this school also has an opportunity to follow this event.
The experience will enrich this international internship program and make it more than just an academic endeavor. Through the traditional culture adopted in the school, Â it will be exposed to the rich cultural tradition provided Raditya with an invaluable perspective, lending a unique depth to his internship experience at Anuban Chumchon Phukradueng School.
Through this event, the student who participate in this international internship program has lots of opportunity in learning the other country's cultures, knowledge and get lots of experience which is can implemented in the positive aspects especially in the teaching and learning activity.
