The establishment of YW Al Muhajirien Jakapermai in 1985 was not without solid reasons. At that time, the Jakapermai area did not have adequate educational infrastructure. Children in this area had difficulty accessing quality education. Seeing this, a group of residents of Jakapermai Housing Complex who were part of the Al Muhajirien Taklim Assembly and were concerned about education took the initiative to establish a foundation and build adequate schools for future leaders in the area.
Building Al Azhar Islamic Schools in the Jakapermai, Kemang Pratama, and Grand Wisata areas was difficult. It required struggle and hard work from many officials and foundation members who cared about the younger generation's future. Through legitimate efforts and mobilizing the awareness of the Islamic Ummah in the area of Bekasi City and its surroundings, funds from the community flowed, allowing the YW Al Muhajirien Jakapermai Waqaf Foundation to start building the school buildings and continue building until now.
YW Al Muhajirien Jakapermai does not only focus on formal education. All foundation members realize that solid character is essential in shaping quality leaders. Therefore, the school has a comprehensive character development program. Students are taught honesty, discipline, empathy, and responsibility. They are encouraged to lead responsible lives and positively impact the surrounding community.
