Abacus also included a statement that embodied the nuance of the dilemma prototype: "I am personally opposed to abortion but recognise the rights of individuals to make their own choices," which was endorsed by 18% of their sample, which is very similar to the 20.5 percent in our study who expressed conflicting views on abortion and choice.

The poll's final choice was "I favour legal abortion but only in extreme cases," which received 17 percent of the vote. There was no significant regulated prototype comparable in the poll to compare our results to.Â
Our data imply that most people oppose criminalising abortion seekers, and that even if abortion is made illegal, criminal punishments are unlikely to gain universal support. The rising legislative initiatives to restrict or criminalise abortion do not appear to be linked with public opinion. When it comes to abortion, there are more than just pro-life and pro-choice viewpoints.
This is especially true when gauging generic or direct pro-abortion sentiment. There were at least three groups, as the controlled and dilemma groups were occasionally interchangeable. Because abortion is generally perceived as a binary, polarising topic, the nature of the situationists deserves greater research.Â
First and foremost, family planning is required; if you are not ready, do not plan for a baby. Plan to keep an eye on the law and services so that we may lobby for reforms when the government does its assessment, as well as to show solidarity with our allies around the world. Our fight will not be won until everyone has access to free, safe, legal, and local abortion.
