Global warming is no longer a rare word for us anymore. The word global warming is used to describe the long term climate change of earth's surface since the pre industrial period. Global warming have caused catastrophic incidents around the world. Global warming happens because of fossil fuels that are trapped in the ozone layer, the fossil fuels trapped in make earths temperature hotter. Fossil fuels come from machines such as cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc.

Global warming triggers many negative things such as, increase of temperatures around the world, extreme drought amd more severe storms. One of the examples of high temperature are melting of ice glaciers in the arctic. over 13 % of ice glaciers in the arctic sea melts every decade. Scientists estimate the arctic would be ice free by 2040. Melting glaciers are no joke, melting glaciers causes rising sea levels, which causes increases in coastal erosion and elevates storm surge. If enough ice melts many animals will lose their habitats and go extinct, animals such as polar bears, walruses, arctic foxes and many more. And even though the arctic is far from Indonesia it is affecting us through the increase of sea levels from the melting ice. Higher sea levels will even affect Jakarta, which is estimated to be covered by water by 2030.

Extreme drought is just as dangerous. Extreme drought is caused by low precipitation over a period of time, extreme drought is dangerous because is causes lack of water supplies. There are many cases around the world where rivers have been dried by this extreme temperatures. Since the 1900 over 11 million people have died from severe or extreme droughts. The worst extreme drought cases happened in Somalia 2022, which killed over 43,000 people and half of whom was children. Currently the part of the world experiencing the worst extreme drought is in the Horn of Africa. The countries that occupy in the Horn of Africa are Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and some parts of Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda.

Severe storms are caused by increasing evaporation, the water vapor goes up to the atmosphere, it becomes fuel for bigger and more powerful storms to develop and occur. Severe storms can cause dangerous incidents or affects. These storms can cause flooding, landslides, damage to buildings or infrastructure, etc. And these incidents causes damage to property or sometimes, even loss of life.

There are many effective solutions to solving climate change or global warming, in This article were going to go through some them. One of the most effective ways to prevent global warming is too generate less fossil fuels. But, how do we that? Fossil fuels come from transportation mostly cars, trucks and buses. So use less diesel powered vehicles such as bikes or even better you can walk to your destination if it is not that far. And using less diesel powered vehicles creates other benefits, for examples if you ride bikes and walk instead, you exercise and can get fitter. And since there are not much vehicles sound pollution will disappear.

The second simple solution is to recycle. Recycling trash can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling trash also helps other environments. Some trash after it is picked up can end up in the water or soil. The water can end up dirty and it can’t be usable for drinking, washing, etc. The soil on the other hand can be polluted from plastic particles.

Thank you for reading this article and I hope you all can follow these solutions to take care and cure earth from its sickness.
