All children born into this world must not understand anything, not because they don't want to but that's the concept. Because they don't understand anything, parents are there to tell them everything about this world, teach them what to do in this world. But what if the child does not get it all from his parents, either from a mother or from a father.
This article will discuss how a child who does not get the role of a father how it should be, especially a daughter without a father. Children who do not get the role of a father can usually be referred to as fatherless. Either the father dies or even ignores the child, thinking that taking care of a child is not a father's job but a mother's job.Â
Here we can see that there is a misunderstanding between "babysitting duties", which actually means that there is no one who should take care of children or anything else. The child is the responsibility of the parents from birth, if they don't want to look after the child then they don't need to have a child. The negligence of such people affects children who do not know anything.
In Indonesia, there are many children who do not have a father. According to data from UNICEF in 2021, there are 20.9% of children in Indonesia growing up without a father, which means there are around 2,999,577 out of 30.83 million early childhood in Indonesia missing the role of fathers in their lives. The loss of fatherhood can be caused by many things but what often happens is that fathers work from morning to evening and when they come home from work, they feel tired and have no energy to just play with their children. Feeling that taking care of children is not a father's job can also be one of the things that cause the loss of fatherhood.
Children aged 0-6 years are entering the golden age. Golden age is the age when a child experiences maximum growth and development. But it is useless when a child who is entering his golden age but is not accompanied by his parents.
Children who are in the golden age period must be accompanied by their parents, so that their parents can ensure that their children really go through the golden age period well. But what if the child is not accompanied by his parents, especially with his father, then a child will not get what he should get during his golden age.
When a child who does not get the role of a father, especially during the golden age period, will get several impacts, (Alya Putri Abi, 2024) the following impacts occur:
